- Are you fully insured? - Show Answer
- Yes, all customers are fully covered by our £5 million comprehensive public liability paintball insurance.
- Can it hurt when you get shot? - Show Answer
- Getting shot is not the greatest pleasure in the world! We here at Bullswood Skirmish do everything we can do reduce the impact of getting shot - such as only using the finest brittle paintballs and bodyarmour for kids and ladies - though getting shot can leave a small bruise and sting a bit!
- Can we bring a birthday cake and snacks? - Show Answer
- Yes, feel free to bring any drinks, snacks and cakes you wish - tea/coffee/squash are available free all day.
- Do parents need to stay at the venue? - Show Answer
- No. Feel free to drop them off and go and enjoy some time out. You know that when you pick them up again at the end of the day, they may be dirty and sweaty but they will also be happy and worn out. For the very young (10 year olds) it may be useful for one parent to be there just for the first hour, to help them get kitted out.
- Do you have any accomodation in the area? - Show Answer
- From free local camping and cheap b&b to five star country hotels with conference facilities, please contact us for a full list and personal recommendations.
- Do you offer discounts for large groups? - Show Answer
- Please call us to discuss your paintball event and we will be happy to discuss various options with you.
- Do you send out birthday or Christmas vouchers? - Show Answer
- Yes. Paintball gift vouchers can be purchased over the phone and sent out the same day.
- Do you split groups up? - Show Answer
- No. All groups stay together.
- How can I promote the day? - Show Answer
- Sign up posters and notice board fliers can be sent to raise interest and drum up support. This is particularly useful when promoting a team-outing corporate paintball day or a large private party.
- How many paintballs do we need? - Show Answer
- Average use for the day is 400-500 paintballs per person. There is little point in trying to make 100 paintballs last a whole day as we all get trigger happy when there's moving targets to hit. For our shorter kids days, we recommend 300 paintballs per player.
- How many people do we need for a paintball game? - Show Answer
- Any number of people can come along (we can accomodate up to 300 players). Team sizes are usually made up on the day of around 15-25 people, do small groups of 1-14 will be thoughtfully matched up with other small groups. Large groups can have their own private party or corporate event, or join in and play with everyone else.
- How many people do we need for a paintball game? - Show Answer
- You can come with any number as we put groups of a similar age together to make up teams on the day. If you have a group of 25 or more you can have your own private paintball party.
- I'm not sure how many players I have, but I want to book now so that I don't miss out on the date I want. What should I do? - Show Answer
- You can make your booking now for the players that you have confirmed. You can then add additional players on to your booking up until a few days before your event.
- Is paintballing safe and does it hurt? - Show Answer
- Playing paintball is a safe, fun activity - we host thousands of players every year that have an awesome time. It is worth noting that getting shot by a paintball is not the most pleasant experience - it can sting and leave a small mark, sometimes a bruise if its on a tight fleshy area! Here at Bullswood Skirmish we only use special, brittle paintballs to limit any pain - if you play at a paintball park with hard paint that bounces off everything you are in the wrong place! Don`t forget, we also issue kids, ladies and small guys with bodyarmour and everyone gets our full-head enclosure goggles. Everyone is also fully insured and we are founder members of the UKPSF (United Kingdom Paintball Sports Federation).
- What about under ten year olds? - Show Answer
- Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, all paintball players must be over 10 years of age to play paintball. Many sites require all players to be 12 years and over. It is only our excellent safety record that allows us to take on players as young as ten years.
- What about valuables? - Show Answer
- We provide lockers so that wallets, phones and keys can be safely stored. A padlock is available for a £5 refundable deposit.
- What clothing do you provide and does it fit all sizes? - Show Answer
- Our purpose-made camouflage overalls cover all sives from tiny to XXXL. They are freshly laundered daily.
- What do they need to bring? - Show Answer
- Footwear is important. Ideally boots with ankle support and grip soles are great but old trainers are most commonly worn. All juniors are issued with overalls and body armous, so underneath casual clothes should be worn. In winter, lightweight gloves can be useful.
- What do you provide for lunch? - Show Answer
- On full adult days, lunch is provided and consists of sausage, burger, beans and mash. You can add cheese and onions to taste.
- What happens if a player does not turn up on the day and I have already paid for them? - Show Answer
- All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, credits can be carried forward and used for a future visit.
- What happens on a kids' day? - Show Answer
- At the start of the day, all players receive a full safety briefing and equipment demonstration. Then prior to each game, players receive a specific mission briefing so that know what the objective of that game is. During the day, they will play a total of six games on various zones, with a break back at base camp after every two games.
- What happens on the day? - Show Answer
- On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly staff, who will show you to your seating area. After filling in an entry form and paying any monies due, you will be issued with all your paintball equipment and clothing. This is followed by an introduction and safety speech. Then the action begins!
- What if the weather is bad? - Show Answer
- We won't call off a game because of bad weather - it's only rain. In the winter we light a big bonfire and serve up hot soup, guaranteed to warm the soul.
- What is the minimum age? - Show Answer
- For youngsters our age range is 10-15. Adults are 16 upwards. I'm afraid we cannot insure under 10s.
- What should we bring? - Show Answer
- Loose fitting clothes, trainers or lightweight boots and, perhaps, a thin pair of gloves in the winter months. (Paintball gloves are available to purchase on the day.) Extra money for paintballs and refreshments might be useful.
- What time do we start? - Show Answer
- Please arrive on site by 9.00am prompt (half day 1.00pm). The day ends arond 4.00pm. Kids events are 12.00 midday to 3.30pm.
- When should I book? - Show Answer
- We usually ask that you phone at least two weeks prior to when you want to play. However, this is not a strict rule. If there is space and you want to play at short notice, we will always try to accomodate you, but booking early will avoid disappointment.
- Will they be safe? - Show Answer
- Safety is our main priority. All games are fully supervised by our expert marshalling staff and the safety equipment we provide is second to none. The most important rule enforced is eye safety - goggles must never be removed on the games zones. Marshals patrol the games area to ensure the safety rules are adhered to and everyone is playing fairly.
- Will we be put up against a group of ex-SAS Rambos? - Show Answer
- Definitely not! At Bullswood Skirmish (we can't vouch for other paintball venues) the majority of our customers are first timers and corporate groups, meaning everyone is there for a good laugh and a memorable, social day out. For regular players with their own equipment we offer a completely separate scenario, special paintball days twice per year.
